Manuel Patrouillard
Global Managing Director at Humanity & Inclusion (HI)
A native of Lyon region, Manuel Patrouillard studied at the Lycée français in Madrid before attending the HEC business school.
He then launched into a management career, spending five years in the corporate sector, followed by thirteen years working for the consultancy firm McKinsey, where he managed large international teams on every continent out of offices in Paris, Lyon and Geneva.
He is a specialist in organizational change and has worked pro bono for Aide et Action in Geneva, Unis-Cité and for Ashoka, all non-profit organizations without religious or political affiliation.
In early 2013, looking to give some new meaning to his career, he accepted the position of Interim Director of Aide et Action France and Europe at a difficult time for the organization. He stayed 9 months, enough time to inject some fresh dynamism, and recruit and settle the new Director into his position.
After completing this mission, he took over as Global Managing Director of the Handicap International Federation, rebranded globally as Humanity & Inclusion in 2018, and has since been focusing on implementing an ambitious strategy to address the rapidly increasing needs for humanitarian aid.
And this strategy is already beginning to bear fruit. Just to mention a few examples: In the last 7 years, HI has been able to help 100% more people suffering from wars, handicap and social unrest whilst significantly reinforcing its structures and capabilities in head offices and key conflict zones. HI has completed its rebranding in its 60 countries with high level internal support and international recognition; and the Charter on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action has been adopted by hundreds of States and Institutions.
