Before joining Akamai, Khalil worked with NeuroLeadership Institute, a cognitive science consultancy, during which time he oversaw Consulting, Practices, and Research. Prior to that, Khalil spent over 14 years in senior leader roles with Apple Inc. including time leading teams in Retail Training, with a global team of over 40 learning professionals focused on expanding and strengthening the Apple culture across hundreds of retail stores in dozens of countries and languages. Khalil and his team were responsible for critical training elements for Apple, such as employee onboarding, technical skills, and product launches.


Khalil holds an M.B.A with dual concentrations in Leadership and Strategy from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  

Khalil resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his amazing wife and high-school sweetheart, Sandra, and two incredible sons, Kevyn, who is currently attending Duke University, and Connor, who is currently attending fourth grade.

  • Is polarization getting worse or better?
  • Is there too much of a focus on race?
  • ‘Heat’ vs ‘light’ approaches to driving social and behavioral change
  • How we can talk about race and other high stakes issues in ways that help
  • Is there a difference between what our organization needs vs. what it is ready for?
