This workshop explores historical exclusion in Hollywood and other media, and practical approaches for managing this exclusion by creating and depicting authentic diverse characters with a focus on US film and TV. Through a lively mix of lecture and feedback, you’ll learn how to enrich and level up your visual storytelling through an inclusive lens.

Topics include research techniques; avoiding harmful tropes in your storytelling, dimensional character portrayals in historical, contemporary, and futuristic settings; Asians in Hollywood; and decolonizing Hollywood.
